I agree with you in that what was teleported by the Chinese scientists mentioned here was not a physical object itself, but rather the attributes associated with an object being echoed 300 miles away.
As you’ve noted — this lends itself to being used to communicate/ “teleport” information by virtue of it not appearing to traverse through a known medium.
I don’t see this however as being at odds with the rest of the article which is a thought piece on what types of teleportation might exist in the future, and the implications of each on the “continuous experience” of human consciousness and our existence.
