Perhaps the answer to Fermi’s “where is everybody?” is that the universe is actually a “dark forest”. No one reveals themselves because once they do — someone big and nasty is going to come for them?

I agree with climate extinction — but I hope we are not too far away from establishing colonies on Mars and biohacking; so maybe we’ll cheat our way out of extinction?
