I would take a different angle on one of your assertions – IMO, our true nature is revealed in the pursuit of whatever you are after. Not once you have attained it.

If you want to be a CEO and are willing to step on people’s throats to get there; that says more about your true nature than what you are willing to do once you’ve achieved what you wanted.

That’s my 2 cents anyway.
