Thanks, Ray for your comment — I agree with much of what you have said.

I’d further add that not only do we subsidise fossil fuels — but we do not factor their downstream costs (for example — the hundreds of thousands of people who die each year as a result of the smog and pollution emitted through their use).

In terms of nuclear — they need not always be so expensive and require as much time as we’ve come to expect.

Small Modular Reactor (SMR) technology allows you to use pre-fabricated components for large portions of their build process. This allows “mass” production (of a sort) thereby reducing both cost, time, end level of skill required to establish new plants.
