That is a fair point Joao. I suppose people often think of British influence as being the most direct European influence in India (as they literally ran the government apparatus of most of the nation).

But you’re right — Portuguese, Dutch (as the story shows) and even Roman traders have been visiting those very shores for centuries and millennia.
