That is certainly one way of looking at it, R M.

The commentary here was around Australian and Kiwi society as being a broad cultural group with many sub-components. Maori, Asian, White, Christian, Muslim, and so on.

In this context, it is not a question of who came first or last. Rather it is which segment is somewhat apart from the rest of the broader populace - particularly around socio-economic indicators.
